SOLAR RESIDENCE ANNIVERSARY-2013

The 30th anniversary of the first passive solar house designed by J.P. Copoulos was recently celebrated. The residence located in Espanola, New Mexico for Jeane & Jack Aeby pioneered many of the early principals of passive solar design including clerestory windows, interior mass walls, earth berming to minimize heat loss and a solar greenhouse.

VETERANS CEMETERY FERNLEY NEVADA 2011

J.P.Copoulos, Architect was recognized by the Korean War Veterans Association, Chapter #198, for the firm’s pro bono design of their monument for the Nevada Korean War Veterans located at the Veteran's Cemetery,Fernley, Nevada.

For the third consecutive year, J.P. Copoulos, Architect sponsored several teams at the Carson High School AutoCAD class for the 2009 Northern Nevada Canstruction project. Canstruction is a national design/build can sculpture project benefiting local area Food Banks.

KOREAN WAR VETERANS RECOGNITION

J.P. Copoulos, Architect was recognized by the Korean War Veterans Association, Chapter #305, for the firm’s additional pro bono design of the granite temple monument donated by the Korean Government for the Nevada Korean War Veterans.

LEED Accredited Professional

John P. Copoulos, owner of J.P. Copoulos, Architects of Carson City, Nevada has recently become a LEED Accredited Professional through the U.S. Green Building Council’s proficiency program. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design is the construction industry-recognized rating system that defines high performance green buildings. Mr. Copoulos will now be able to assist clients in achieving LEED certification for sustainable designed projects.

VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR

John Copoulos with J.P. Copoulos, Architect was recognized as Volunteer of the Year for 2004 by the Foundation for the Betterment of Carson City Parks and Recreation for the firm’s contributions to the Carson City Parks System.

SKILLS USA MEDAL WINNERS

Two employees with J.P. Copoulos, Architect were recognized for their drawing skills at the Nevada Skills USA drafting competition. Zach Copoulos took first place with the Gold Medal and Steve Makris took second place with the Silver Medal.

KITCHEN & BATH BUSINESS MAGAZINE

A bath project designed by J.P. Copoulos, Architect was featured in the February 2000 issue of Kitchen and Bath Business.

COMSTOCK HISTORY CENTER

Virginia City’s History and Research Center at Union and E streets, designed by J.P. Copoulos, Architect is under construction. The 5,000 sq ft building is scheduled to open August of 2006.
